of course many couples choose to get married in a church down in durango and then drive up to the mountains for their reception. however, more and more couples are getting married in the out of doors. and the possibilities are limitless.

about a third of the couples who host their reception at the sow’s ear choose to get married in our park. the park is located in an aspen grove and is adjacent to the lodge, parking lot and condominiums. there are two backdrops commonly used by wedding parties, one of mount kennedy in the distance and one of woods and hillside. this is the site of choice for those desiring the utmost convenience eliminating travel and wear and tear on the old folks.

there is no charge to use the park. we have brown stacking chairs available for use in the park for a $200 set up and tear down fee.

there are two other sites  in the neighborhood commonly utilized by couples who want outdoor weddings. these sites are located on public lands in the national forest. there are no site fees but you must call carolyn at 970-884-1404 to reserve for your exclusive use.  pictures of weddings celebrated at these sites are located under photos.

the first is in what is locally referred to as the marriage meadowand is located 2 miles away, a half mile down the old lime creek road. it is a huge meadow with views of engineer mountain, potato hill and the twilight peaks.

the second site is located 15 miles up the scenic skyway on the top of molas pass and andrews lake. the views are of the lake and 360 degrees of high peaks. there is pavement to the lake and comfort facilities in the parking lot.
