The Sow’s Ear Restaurant, established in 1986, is located in the Silverpick Lodge,   just one mile south of Durango Mountain Resort  amongst the beautiful San Juan mountains. The Sow’s Ear is the longest running restaurant in the area with owner and chef George Mehaffie taking over in May of 2008.  While continuing the tradition of “The Best Steaks on the Mountain”, he has brought a seasonal feel to the menu, including the popular addition of small plates and new light fare.   The menu’s ingredients have evolved under George with now locally grown proteins used whenever possible.  Come join us at the Sow’s Ear for a unique fine dining experience in a unique mountain setting.

Apres ski?  Family ski trip?  No problem.  Sow’s Ear has a more casual bar seating area and options for the kiddos as well.

Reservations Recommended.   Closed for November.  Reopening 7 days a week beginning Thursday December 1st 2011. Bar 4pm; dinner served from 5-9pm
